INTERPOL is now looking for a qualified candidate to serve as Assistant Criminal Intelligence Analyst in Criminal Analysis Sub-Directorate.

The Assistant Criminal Intelligence Analyst during the apprenticeship training and development period, works under regular supervision and guidance to perform intelligence analysis on matters relating to the structure, activities and development of transnational crime, in support of INTERPOL operational activities or senior managerial decision making processes, and in addition contributes to the further development of criminal intelligence analysis as a vital law enforcement support tool.
Primary Duties
The Assistant Criminal Intelligence Analyst is, according to organizational priorities and individual skill sets and experience, expected to carry out a combination of the following specialized duties under regular supervision and guidance from more senior analysts and managers:
1. To produce analytical assessments
a) on the structure, scope and nature of criminal organizations and/or criminal activities in support of operational decision making by IPSG, Member States’ law enforcement organizations or INTERPOL partner organizations, on targeting, case-building and/or suppression of criminal organizations or criminal activities;
b) on the scope, nature and tendencies of crime phenomena, criminal organizations, the effectiveness of law enforcement measures or related issues in support of strategic decision making (i.e. setting of priorities) and development of policy at INTEPOL General Secretariat (IPSG), in Member States’ law enforcement organizations or in INTERPOL partner organizations;
2. To perform environmental scanning, by applying advanced techniques, in search of emerging issues or trends of a political, economic, social or technological nature, with a potential to impact on the ability of IPSG, Member States or INTERPOL partner organizations to prevent and suppress transnational crime, and disseminate these to concerned parties;
3. To contribute to further development and better application of criminal intelligence analysis and its methods and tools, advancing the techniques and providing best practice for analysis as a law enforcement support tool, particularly at IPSG, INTERPOL Regional Bureaus and within Member States’ law enforcement agencies, and if prioritized, at other INTERPOL partner organizations (15%);
4. To perform other tasks, such as assisting with administration and receiving visits, deemed appropriate by the incumbent’s superior.
Requirements
Training/Education required
• Postgraduate degree is desirable. Graduate degree is required (police, law, economics, communication).
• Outstanding ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally.
• Fluency in English is required. Fluency in French would be an asset.
Experience required
• Experience in working with computers including knowledge of oral presentations software, and word processing software is a must.
• Experience in a law enforcement agency would be an asset.
• Background in providing administrative and management support preferably in an international law enforcement organization is an asset.

Working Conditions
• Remuneration for appointment on contract: The starting salary for Grade 6 is EUR 2684 per month for a step 1.

• The incumbent will also be required to work occasional overtime.based upon workload.
